MILAN, ITALY - Mr. Mohamed Naser Alzaabi, Chairman and Managing Director of AlNser Holding, has concluded a high-level strategic visit to Italy’s industrial heartland, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to building a diversified, talent-led economy through long-term European partnerships.
The visit follows the landmark USD 40 billion strategic partnership formalized between the UAE and Italy in February 2025. With bilateral non-oil trade reaching USD 7.9 billion in the first half of 2025 a 14.6% year-on-year increase Italy has solidified its position as the UAE’s leading non-oil trade partner within the European Union.
Strengthening the “Manufacturing Corridor”
Focusing on the Lombardy region Italy’s industrial engine Mr. Alzaabi engaged with institutional and industrial leaders across the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia. This “twin-city” corridor represents one of Europe’s most advanced manufacturing hubs, specializing in high-precision industries including advanced metallurgy, aerospace, and green technologies.
“The energy in Brescia and Bergamo demonstrates that when tradition meets transformation, the possibilities are limitless,” said Mr. Mohamed Naser Alzaabi. “Our objective is to move beyond transactional engagement toward long-term structural integration combining Italian technical excellence with the UAE’s global logistics and investment infrastructure.”
Key Institutional Engagements
Throughout the mission, Mr. Alzaabi held strategic discussions aimed at integrating shared industrial value chains, including:
• Institutional Frameworks: Meetings with Mr. Pasquale Gandolfi, President of the Province of Bergamo and President of the Union of Italian Provinces (UPI), focusing on cooperative frameworks and regional development.
• Industrial Dialogue in Bergamo: Engagements with Ms. Giovanna Ricuperati, President of Confindustria Bergamo, alongside leaders of prominent local enterprises to explore investment and industrial collaboration opportunities.
• Strategic Sessions in Brescia: A comprehensive joint session with Mr. Emanuele Moraschini (President of the Province of Brescia), Mr. Paolo Streparava (President of Confindustria Brescia), and Ms. Barbara Ulcelli (President of the Comitato Piccola Industria), centered on the future evolution of shared industrial value chains.
The visit culminated at the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum in Milan, where discussions shifted toward the next phase of regional industrial hub development. As the UAE advances its national economic diversification strategy, collaboration with Lombardy’s “Made in Italy” manufacturing excellence is emerging as a blueprint for deeper UAE–EU industrial integration.
